Absolute shambles when dealing with membership cancellations (previously on a rolling membership contract.) advised JD Gyms Washington I would like my account frozen as I was currently working from home due to COVID, I was advised this would have been frozen up until the end of September and if any payments were taken out in the process they would be refunded, when I advised the gym that the payment had been taken out for September with no refund, I was told to contact customer care who advised they would investigate, after no response I called today to query this, in which I was advised they would be no way they could refund any money as their policy was unfreezes would be activated at the start of September, I suggested the solution to review the phone calls as I had been advised different to which they said they could not do and insisted they could only go of there notes, completely disregarding anything I had to say, the women from customer care then stated we are in the middle of a global pandemic which was extremely unprofessional and I was quick to advise everybody is in the same situation, money aside this is one of the most insulting comments I have ever heard from a company with no care for its members, with no resolution they have effectively taken my money and I will not be going back.

I have been a member at the Huddersfield branch for a few years, I received a parking charge notice from the private company that manages their car park. I was told, BY JD GYM STAFF members! to ignore any letters regarding the parking charge. This has resulted in me receiving a CCJ and two seperate debt recovery companies pursing me for £500..To this date I have received no assistance from JD after contacting theirselves for help. Not a word of advice, not a gesture of goodwill, just "Oh a bit tricky that!"..I'm going to contact teh financial ombudsman for advice, and I'm leaving this review as a last ditch attempt to get any help from JD.You have emails from myself and my contact details I await your communication. Really disappointed, and would recommend avoiding this gym at all costs. No customer care at all.

I was an xecrise4less customer and paid the higher price to use any of these gyms. Afterlock down i was refused from the Cumbernauld and Livingston branch as these were not my home gym. Staff were not able to provide me with any further information and asked me to contact customer service. After several days i was able to get in touch with customer service who informed me that they have changed the terms on my membership to single use. I was not informed of this and certainly didn't agree to this. The customer service rep couldn't of cared less. Membership now cancelled and gone elsewhere. Shocking customer service

Before the last lockdown my account was frozen for 3 months (Jan, Feb and March) and lockdown kicked in.I emailed the gym and asked if my 3 months would still be frozen IE my next payment would in July and this was confirmed via email on the 11th March by the gym.On the 22nd April my direct debit was taken from my account. I emailed them on the 22nd April, 1st, 3rd and 5th May to try and resolve this issue. No luck. So I contacted the social media team on Facebook they said they would look into it they did and said nothing wrong. But didn't mention why it wasnt still frozen. So they told me to reply to the email which I did - still nothing so contacted the social media team again and they said phone this number - no answer. So once again I asked the social media team what was going on and they said they had passed my details to the gym manager. And still not heard anything. I have contacted the manager at the gym and still no reply. I thought X4Ls customer service was atrocious but this is a new level with JD Gyms. And by the comments on Trustpilot Im not the only one who has a problem.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AT SHEFFIELD SOUTH. Blunt and inpolite over email and ended up cancelling my membership despite me already paying for it. Would recommend any other gym over this, quite simply not worth the hassle and jd gyms just want to take your money.

Had the trial £5 month deal at the Doncaster branch when it first opened. To say they took your money and couldn't care less is an understatement. Far too many people let in at any one time, no equipment free with a queue for cardio machines, large groups of young males forcing their way on to free weights sections and then monopolising, no weights returned, car park run like a circus with attendant double parking people and blocking routes out. Cancelled my membership after the month was up. Come to 12 months later and JD gym suddenly take out £20 from my account. Had to contact bank and claim back under the direct debit agreement. At this point if you wanted me to resub to the gym you would have to pay me as the place was run like a chimps tea party.

Have been with JD Gym for about three years. They took my money I was using their gym. No problem. Coronavirus shut all the gyms they stop taking money. No problem. I set up my own gym in my house and try to cancel my membership. BIG problem. They can't find my details on the system. Keep getting emails asking for some pin, then for some other details so on so on for several months. Some emails very late evening. Finally, i just cancelled direct debit. Thank you JD Gym i might come back when coronavirus is gone AND you fix all the equipment.

my membership at harlow x4l was £12. a few weeks ago i got a email saying price is going up to 15?. today i get another email saying its now jd gyms and price is going up to 20?. is this some joke?. will you honour the old price i was paying?. or how do i cancel my membership?.

Not worth a one star thoRecently I joined with no contract scheme I have put my bank details for subscription. I went for 3 weeks only then the lockdown started. The next day they took the money without my permission and sent me this mail “ However, due to the short notice of the Tier changes/lockdown starting, your Direct Debit payment had already been requested and was clearing with your bank. We were therefore unable to stop the payment that you will have seen come out of your bank in the last few days. “I thought it will be last and I understand the situation but one month later which yesterday they again attempted to take the same amount. I canceled the subscription but it is not however cancelingTrying to contact them with no response , no one attend the mailsI believe it is scam. I don’t know if they will stop this or it will keep going tho the gym is closed!!!!!

The gym recently opened and then closed again the same day due to Covid. I had signed up for a month and I can not get a refund because its past some 14 days cooling off period. I would understand if I could have used the gym in this 14 days and therefore had use of their services in this time frame, as is usual, but in such unusual circumstances enforcing these standard form terms are likely to be contrary to fair terms. If the 5 quid means more to them than not having have negative review then fair play to them, and I wish them good luck with their business model.

Thought i’d give it a try for a fiver for the first month, so started the online application but never actually submitted it as i changed my mind.Next minute i had the fiver taken out my bank. After a few emails i did manage to get a refund. But now they keep pestering me with phonecalls and voicemails telling me they want to help me complete my application as it flags as ‘pending’ Just leave me alone!

Disgusting attitude from staff. Speak to you and treat you in the worse manner. Zero customer service. Unprofessional and hostile. Shouting out orders to members. If you are serious about weight lifting, then you should avoid. Apparently this is a "commercial gym", and you are not allowed to lift heavy weights or go for personal bests. This place needs to decide if it is a gym or some weird form of night club. All flashing neon lights with cheap weights and equipment, with a poor ethos!

Absolute scum . this company brought my gym out last month and was told all 400 plus employees will keep there jobs yet you lot have sent me an email stating that my job is a risk and that there's a high chance il be made redundant. if this happens I will sue you into the f#cking ground . as its illegal what your doing even citizens advice has said so . so good luck in court

I was a part of Xercise4less gym before covid for £12.79 a month DD. Suddenly I received a text message sayingmy contract changed to JD Gyms and it now costs £15.99. They have taken money from my bank without my accepting that contract and their gyms are located in different places. Avoid.
